Cary Ballet Conservatory’s Host Family Program provides visiting dancers a home away from home experience. Dancers are matched with a Cary Ballet Conservatory family to stay with while they are here for the intensive. This family will provide their room and board, supervision, and transportation to and from the studio each day. The host family rate is $350/week to be paid to Cary Ballet. Additional fees will apply for some activities. Host family matches are based on responses both the dancer and host family provide on their housing forms. We do our best to match dancers with families whose children are close in age.

When the dancers are away from the studio they will be included in activities with their host family as well as invited to participate in social activities planned by Cary Ballet. Those activities may include pizza parties, a Durham Bulls game, a theatre show, a trip to the mall or the movies. As the summer schedules are published, we will have a more accurate list of activities.

Families that have hosted in the past find the experience rewarding and look forward to hosting again. Besides the excellent training the dancers receive at Cary Ballet, we believe that what makes the Summer Intensive experience so memorable, is the friendships the dancers make with other dancers who share their passion for dance.
